Hello and Welcome!
I hope that you’ve had an incredible week enjoying the sun if you’re based here in the UK (let’s just ignore the fact it will definitely start raining again soon). I also hope that you’re enjoying your Sunday, and are looking forward to reading this review!
Today I’ll be talking about the ‘Trends Mischief Matte’ palette from a Revolution Pro. This was a palette that I was extremely excited to get my hands on, but proved difficult to get.
As you probably have already seen, Revolution Beauty launched a whole new brand called Revolution Pro. As with many Revolution products, this was extremely hyped up. Therefore, I really struggled to get my hands on the items I wanted from the range – which was made worse by the fact that Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on the entire brand! I didn’t want to place an order without this palette, because I wanted it so badly, so I had to wait until it was restocked.

What is Revolution Pro?
The only description of the brand that I could find was on the Superdrug website, which reads as follows:
‘Professional quality, affordable prices, astonishing quality. Made by British beauty company Revolution Beauty, Revolution PRO brings makeup artist quality cosmetics and kit essentials to the high street, equipping you with everything you need for weddings, photoshoots or your everyday makeup bag. Featuring high coverage camouflage concealers and richly pigmented eyeshadow palettes, the Revolution PRO range is proudly 100% cruelty-free and a lot of the products are vegan.’
Packaging
The palette is plastic with a black boarder with the brand name on, and a large clear window in the centre where the shadows can be seen.
I do like the packaging of this palette, especially for the £8.00 price point that the palette has. It’s simplistic, which I like, and I appreciate the clear panel. I think the design is good for if you were to own multiple of the palettes from this brand as it allows you to easily differentiate between the palettes and view the colours without having to open it.
The packaging also isn’t bulky at all which makes it easy to store.
Swatches
Okay so the above photos show the swatches from this palette. I did have to swatch the third row separately as it wouldn’t all fit on my arm.
This palette swatches incredibly. The shadows are really soft and velvety to the touch and they don’t need layering in order for them to provide good levels of pigment. A couple of downsides are that the shadows are the tiniest bit crumbly. However, I actually used the palette on my eyes before I did these swatches, and I didn’t notice that crumbliness on my eyes at all, so I think it may just be due to my finger picking up more product than a brush does.
I honestly love these colours! I chose this palette, out of all the ones they stock, pretty much due to the fact it had a yellow, a red, and the greens and blues – but I must say that the yellow was the main reason! I’ve been really getting into doing colourful eyeshadows recently and this palette contains additional colours that I don’t already own, so I was excited to get it.
The only thing that I don’t like about the palette is how many pink toned colours that there are. In the arm swatches I did find that quite a few of them looked very similar (especially in the third row). However, the ones that I used in my eye look didn’t look similar when applied and built up a bit – so again I think it’s that the arm swatches aren’t completely realistic.
Eye Look
This was the eye look that I did the day after the palette arrived. I really wanted to use that yellow and I’ll definitely be playing around with it more! I know it’s not the best look ever but I’m pretty new to colourful eye looks. Plus it was much better in person, I haven’t quite got the knack of taking photos of eyeshadow looks yet!
To achieve this look I went in with my E.L.F eyeshadow primer, then set that with the white shade ‘Saint’. I then added the colours ‘Shrine’, ‘Ricochet’, ‘Exclusive’, and ‘Haunted’ in the crease, focusing the darker shades on the outer corner. Then I carved out my lid with some of the Revolution concealer (review on that product here), before adding ‘New Day’, ‘Daydream’, and ‘Half Time’ over that moving from my inner third, outwards, with each new colour. On the lower lash line I used ‘Indication’, ‘Crusade’, and ‘Shrine’. Finally, to finish, I used ‘Saint’ on my inner corner.
From the 18 shades in the palette, I used 10 to create this eye look. Therefore, I think I have a pretty good idea about how this palette performs!
Final Thoughts
The shadows were really easy to use and were extremely blendable. I found that each shadow has a great amount of pigment, but could be built up to be as vibrant as the colour in the pan. I really like the formula of these matte shadows, and I was blown away by how easy they are to use. Whilst this is a pretty colourful palette, I do think that you can make more wearable every day looks from it as well – by using just the pinks and purples, or even using the more adventurous blues, greens, and the yellow, more sparingly. Also, of course, you can make countless colourful eyes. Therefore, I do think that this palette is quite versatile. I also love that this palette is all matte! Any colours in this palette that are similar to ones that I have in other palettes are shimmery and therefore I don’t reach for them as often since I don’t like putting shimmers through my crease.
Overall, I think the formula of these shadows is fantastic, they’re soft, blendable, and pigmented. Like most Revolution Beauty products, the price that you’re paying and the quality that you receive is outstanding. I think that it’s well worth the £8.00 that the palette retails for, and I will definitely be reaching for this palette much more frequently and seeing what looks I can come up with. So be sure to follow my Instagram to see what else I create using this palette. If you think that you’d like the colours in this palette then I’d highly recommend it!
If you would like to try this palette then you can grab it for £8.00 on the Revolution Beauty website here or from the Superdrug website here.

I’ve been looking for a brights palette but I’ve heard mixed things about this one. For £8 I think it’s worth trying though- I’ve just done a Superdrug order but this was out of stock again!

I personally really like it, the colours are pigmented but not so much so that you can’t blend them, and they’re really buildable! Try on the Revolution Beauty website, it was in stock yesterday xx
